Strauss at Midnight to Benefit COTA for Jack Benjamin!
Theater Oobleck's new show "Strauss at Midnight" is playing down at the Storefront Theater, 66 E. Randolph St., in Chicago, and you should come on June 28th, Sunday to see it. Half the proceeds from that day's performance will go to COTA for Jack Benjamin.
Oobleck has, for their last couple of productions, been supporting some local causes by donating half the proceeds of certain performances to non-profit organizations. It's easy: you go to the show, pay whatever you would normally pay (Oobleck is always pay-what-you-can) and 1/2 the profits go to the beneficiary. Past recipients have been The Friends Service Committee, Literacy Works, Chicago Women's Health Clinic, Roger's Park Montessori and others. It's a good thing - the non-profits bring audiences and they get support for their work. Win and win.
Sunday, June 28th, the beneficiary will be the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) for Jack Benjamin. Come to the 3:00 performance on June 28th and see a great play and help out Jack and COTA. No need to make a reservation, but you can if you want to by visiting www.dcatheater.org or calling 312-742-8497. The pay-what-you-can option is available at the door. Please come!

Here are links to various very positive reviews of the show:
"That [Strauss at Midnight] works so well is partly a function of Dorchen being brilliant, and partly of his lucking out with what may be the best cast I’ve ever seen in an Oobleck show. This is a Chicago fringe all-star team." - Tony Adler, Chicago Reader http://tinyurl.com/m5r8ft
“RECOMMENDED... A veritable buffet of intellectual treats for the the theater geek... Jeff Dorchen’s play is incredibly smart... “Strauss at Midnight” is probably the boldest production you’ll see this year.” – Newcity
